In the Western Caribbean lies an island that scuba divers, from all over the world, have tried to keep a secret. Maybe you’ve briefly visited it on a cruise ship or saw it on HGTV’s International House Hunters or Caribbean Life? It’s an island protected by the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. But now, the secret is out about Roatán, the largest island of the Bay Islands. Roatán offers crystal clear water, the number 1 beach in Central America, world-renowned scuba diving, deep sea fishing, bonefishing, kitesurfing, and the abundant sea life of the reef. The reef awaits at Añoranza!!

If you’re looking for a true Caribbean island experience, Añoranza is the place for you. If you are looking for a place like Cabo or Tulum, we’re not the destination for you. Leave your designer bags, shoes, jewelry, and clothes at home. All you need to pack are swimsuits, cover-ups, rash guards and flip flops. 

Also, if you’re looking for nightlife, we recommend booking in West End or one of the destinations mentioned above. Don’t get us wrong, we love Cabo and Tulum but you don’t come to the east side of Roatán for that experience. There are no restaurants within walking distance but you can kayak to a few restaurants or drive 5 minutes to the villages of Oakridge or Punta Gorda to get authentic Caribbean island food. If you don’t want to leave Añoranza we offer full size kitchens for you to cook or hire our private chef.

Everyone asks us, "What does Añoranza mean?" In Spanish, it means longing and for the owners of Añoranza, it means, stop longing for a vacation. Stop longing for time with your family or friends. Stop longing to explore a new place. Stop longing for adventure and new memories. Stop longing for fun. Stop longing and make it happen!

From the moment our guests open the doors to Añoranza and see the view of the reef, we want to create an experience they will be longing to return to. The experience is built around the reef and begins with our Villa that was finished, Feb. 2019, and our Casita finished, April 2021. Añoranza offers guests the option of booking the Villa, Casita or both. The Villa and Casita were built on a bluff and designed to capture the amazing blues of the Caribbean and reef from every room, even the showers. The Villa is 3 levels to give our guests privacy as well as maximize the views. It can be rented as a 3-bedroom or a 2-bedroom depending on how much space guests need. The Casita is 1 level and set a little back, to the left of the Villa with it's own private plunge pool. If your group needs 4 bedrooms, the Villa and Casita can be booked together.

The Añoranza Experience would not be what it is without our staff, Matt and Dalia. Matt is our property manager and will be your concierge before your arrival. Dalia, lives on property and will be your customer experience manager during your stay. They both work very close together to make sure you enjoy the Añoranza Experience. We are more than a typical Airbnb or VRBO property. Dalia is also our private chef and if you decide you want to leave the cooking to someone else, she can prepare one special meal or all your meals while you stay with us. Your longing is our calling and we look forward to sharing the Añoranza Experience with you soon.
